BIO

Born in Long Beach, CA and raised in Southern California. Started sailing at age 16. Dan received a B.S. in Geology from Stanford University and then attended UCLA prior to joining Fairchild Aerial Surveys with exploration geology assignments in Sicily, Morocco, Libya and Iran.

Dan joined the IBM Corporation in Los Angeles in 1962 and held systems, marketing and management positions on assignments to Hawaii, Kwajalein, Guam, Southeast Asia, Saudi Arabia and Los Angeles. During his 25 years with Big Blue (IBM) he both traveled and sailed extensively.

In 1988, Dan joined Coldwell Banker as a real estate salesman and has recently retired, again, to concentrate on a new career in writing. During all these years, cruising, racing and owning sailboats have been his avocation. He is happily married and living in North County San Diego
